Cordell “Boogie” Mosson, bassist for the Parliament-Funkadelic group fronted by George Clinton, has died at the age of 60. Mosson died of liver failure on April 18, the New York Times reports.
Mosson also played with United Soul after moving to Toronto in the ’60s, NBC News reports:
Clinton told the Times that Mosson had a wide range of talents, able to play “all the psychedelic stuff and the Motown and the James Brown.
Mosson toured with the collective until his death.
Today, we remember Cordell Mosson with this presentation of Parliament-Funkadelic’s 1976 “The Mothership Connection,” live in concert. Enjoy this nearly one-and-a-half hour concert, including singles “Cosmic Slop,” “Do that Stuff,” “Gammin’ on Ya,” “Standing on the Verge,” “Undisco Kid, and “Children of Production.”
