Friday night was Black Heritage Day at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo! During all of the activities, the Rodeo spotlights the contributions of black pioneers to the cultural achievement and heritage of the city of Houston and the state of Texas with a full day of fun and excitement!
John Legend was the featured artist of the night performing all of his soulful hits like “Used to Love You”, “Save Room”, and “Get Lifted”. Legend was backed by an 8-piece live band along with two unforgettable background singers who sashayed the stage with choreographed dances the entire show. Legend also serenaded us with never-before-heard songs off of his upcoming album and also performed the single, ‘Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” off of the Think Like A Man movie soundtrack.
After the crowd sung the fan favorite “Ordinary People”, Legend put on his cowboy hat, grabbed his belt buckle and closed the show out with the uptempo hit, “Green Light” before being whisked away in a flat bed GMC truck waving at all of his fans!
